What a whirl wind it has been the last few weeks !! Mom said summer vacation was over and training for college will take a step up. Kind of like taking the ACT test whatever that is ?? So we headed out on a field trip with Dad to look at new trees for the yard. We ran into a few people Mom knows at the garden center. She was so happy to see me. We spent time inside their store and I saw those funny orange round things like last year. Mom said we will be putting ours out soon. I asked if I can help this year since I am now older.
The next day we all spent time down in the garden. Mom and Dad picked a lot of veggies for us to eat but I have a feeling Avalon and I will just get our stand by puppy food. I heard Mom say I am not allowed people food. After they picked veggies we got to go swimming. I have been told our swimming in the lake is winding down. Fall temps are on the way so it will be too cold for us. I reminded Mom that Avalon and I always wear fur coats so we can take the cool water temps. We can swim till that funny hard stuff covers the lake.
Another one of my adventures was to go visit my Grandma Keuter. She lives in this wonderful castle with a lot of other people. We have gone there a couple of times to visit her. This time she had a visitor with her. I was not too happy about that and kind of made a stink but finally Mom said either shape up or we are going to ship out. I listened and did a down stay as asked but was not too happy about it and let Mom know.
After our visit Mom and me went to Hy-Vee to get some groceries. Mom was looking at the Husker stuff so I surprised her with an up on a Husker chair. I thought Mom was going to faint when she saw me because that chair was not ours and belonged to the store. She took a quick pic and I had to get off. Mom explained to me that I need to ask permission to jump up on chairs before I do it. I asked her why she taught me to do this if I had to ask each time ? After our chairs incident we checked out and went home. Mom made me do a down stay in front of some really nice smelling sweet stuff ! I was soooo tempted but remained composed
Miss M and Miss K had a day off from their command school so we did a fun field trip. This was a cool place called the Durham - Omaha Union Station. It had a lot of things to see - many of them I have never seen before. It was about Omaha past and how things use to be.
I learned a lot about people who lived in Nebraska before me and about these things called trains. Kind of like cars but they are really long and lots of people can ride in them all at once. They were old ones though from the past. They had bathrooms - Funny We did meet some nice people while we were in there. I explained to them that Miss M and I were on a field trip and I was helping Miss M learn commands. After we were finished command training we went to a restaurant for lunch. I thought I was going to get lunch too but again nothing. I protested a little which Mom was not to happy about but over all Mom said the day was a success and all was well !! I hope Miss M and Miss K get another day off.
I finally got to go see Dad at his command training school. He leaves just about every day for his school but I never knew what he did there. Dad showed me around and let me sit next to him in his command chair. It was cool. He took me outside and we walked around campus and he showed me the other training centers. I asked if we could go into some of the others but he said they belong to other commanders and we couldn't. Mom has been taking me on more of her everyday errands lately which sometimes I like and other times not so much. I just don't understand why Avalon can stay home and do whatever she wants and I don't get a choice. Mom keeps telling me it is college training ??
However, we had probably one of the biggest college training trips I have ever had yesterday. Mom and Dad took me to a HUSKER football game! I kind of knew what to expect since we watch them on the TV every weekend but it was something to behold when we got there. First though a vice nice lady came and talked to us. She had a camera that was three maybe four time bigger then Mom's camera. She asked Mom questions about me then Dad. She must not understand puppy talk like most four legged people because I was trying to tell her to ask me questions. 
After we were done with taking pictures we were off to walk around the BIG training campus. There were soooo many people there it was hard to stay focused and not lose Mom and Dad. People stopped and asked why I was there for the game and Mom and Dad said it was a training field trip. They asked a lot of questions but not one of them understood puppy talk when I tried to answer them. So much for college training for them !
Finally we got to our seats. The training staff there gave us special seats so we would have room to sit by each other. Dad was really intense watching the game so Mom and me took a few breaks to move around. I was told I got an A report card for the day except for the few times I jumped up and yelled but I just did what Dad did plus a few other 90 thousand others who were at the training facility. It was a HAPPY Day in HUSKER Land - We WON !! Their command training paid off. I guess my command training has paid off too. When we got home my acceptance letter to KSDS Inc. College had arrived in the mail. Mom and Dad read the letter and I could not tell if they were happy or sad that I got accepted ? To tell you the truth I am not sure either. This will be a new adventure in my life and I will not be able to be with Mom and Dad to share it. Maybe I will sneak Mom's ipad in my bag so I can send them some updates ?
